This amassed collage of inked library check-out slips, from the gender studies section, speaks to the imagined identities of those involved in the making of this piece – the readers, borrowers, librarians, and artist. Concerned with the notion that each of these dates can be tied to the social construction and the embodiment of history and gender, the relationships between human usage and structured labour – especially through repetitive, banal, purportedly feminine acts – is highlighted here.
