Inked paper slips
144 in x 48 in
This amassed collection of library check-out slips from a particular group of call numbers speak of the imagined identities of those involved in the making of this piece – the readers, borrowers, librarians, and artist. Concerned with the notion that each of these dates can be tied to the social construction and the embodiment of history and gender, the relationships between human usage and structured labour – especially through repetitive, banal, purportedly feminine acts – is highlighted here.
